*JOB SUMMARY* Reporting to the VP, CNO - Central Texas Region, the Director Nursing Clinical Excellence is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the standards of clinical practice and nursing policy for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple. Oversees the development and implementation of system-wide nursing policy, procedures, models, standards, and guidelines that operationalizes BSWH Nursing practice standards. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote best-in-class clinical practice for diverse nursing roles in various BSWH environments. Designs and delivers clinical programs on utilization of nursing dashboards in trending, analysis, and quality improvement to support sustainability and standardization of clinical practice quality across BSWH. Leads, coordinates, and directs activities promoting shared governance for clinical and nursing functions, including common guidelines and procedures, use of huddle boards, and pursuit of Magnet or Pathway to Excellence designations. Monitors, measures, and reports system-wide nursing metrics, including quality, safety, and nurse satisfaction. Develops and implements clinical programs, initiatives, and education to improve nursing quality outcomes in accordance with BSWH goals and objectives. This position oversees the Magnet program at the Level I Academic Trauma Center: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* - Directs nursing clinical practice and policy for assigned area of responsibility for BSWH. - Recommends and implements clinical strategic and operational plans and priorities, aligned to the overall business objectives of BSWH. - Initiates, promotes, and advocates for standardized, evidence-based clinical initiatives to enhance patient safety, patient outcomes, nursing practice, and regulatory compliance. - Collaborates with nursing leadership regarding nursing scope of practice, nursing peer review process, and Magnet/Pathway to Excellence designation or readiness. - Develops and implements clinical policies, procedures, processes, standards, order sets, quality control methods, best practices, and protocols to ensure safe and quality patient care. 6.Directs and organizes nursing and clinical departments according to nursing practice standards and service guidelines. - Ensures compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements related to nursing care and clinical practice. - Leads, coordinates, and facilitates the implementation of clinical initiatives and programs that promote patient centered outcomes and support organizational objectives. - Evaluates, prioritizes, and leads clinical quality initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and best practice reviews that impact BSWH patient care and patient satisfaction. - Leads development and implementation of a shared decision-making structure through clinical councils to operationalize improvements, standardization, and consistent workflows impacting BSWH nursing practice. *KEY SUCCESS FACTORS* - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's degree in related field required. - 2.3+ years of nursing experience in an acute care environment. - Experience in a leadership role preferred. - Registered Nurse (RN) license. - Knowledge of nursing Magnet Recognition Program standards and Magnet Designation process. - Experience collaborating across multiple departments and clinical disciplines within a large, complex healthcare organization preferred. - Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. - Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. *MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS* - Master's Degree - 3 years of experience - Registered Nurse
