Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a dynamic Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our team at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will exemplify exceptional patient-centered care, collaborating with our hospital team to assess, plan, and deliver treatment for children with complex health needs. This role requires a full range of skills, from hands-on practice and research to patient coaching and ethical leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, manage medical conditions, and safely prescribe medication in a patient- and family-centered manner.
- Act as a clinical resource and patient advocate, working seamlessly with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care and smooth patient transitions.
- Apply evidence-based medicine to improve patient outcomes, participate in quality initiatives, and ensure adherence to the highest standards of care and safety protocols.
- Lead by example, precepting students, educating nursing staff, and advancing the practice by participating in clinical research and presenting findings.
- Uphold Professional & Ethical Standards: Demonstrate full accountability for your practice, ensuring all care complies with hospital policies, ethical principles, and the New Jersey state scope of practice.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current, unrestricted New Jersey RN and Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) licenses.
- National board certification (AANP or ANCC) and a current BLS certification.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain NJ CDS and federal DEA registration.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
- A strong background in pediatric acute care is preferred.
COMPENSATION:
Minimum Starting Salary: $148,803.20

Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
