Job Title: *RN Cath Lab Nurse Manager* Facility: Baylor Scott and White Medical Center- Austin, TX Facility Address: 5245 W US Hwy 290 Service Rd, Austin, TX 78735 Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Austin is located in Oak Hill on the West US Highway 290 Service Road, just west of MoPac. Our full-service South Austin hospital offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, as well as a 24/7 Emergency Department. We are proud to be a designated Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission in collaboration with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, providing rapid assessment and treatment for stroke patients. The providers at our South Austin medical center offer a wide range of specialized treatments, including breast surgery, heart and vascular care, orthopedics, otolaryngology (ENT), women's health, and urogynecology. Job Summary The RN Cath Lab Manager promotes a helpful work environment. Patients, families, and staff receive compassionate care. They plan, implement, and assess policies. Manage budgets and resources, oversee improvement, and organize educational programs. They also participate in governance councils to meet priorities. This role involves providing nursing care. Essential Functions of the Role * Formulate and convey a clear plan for nursing procedures within your assigned area. * Involve supervisors and team members in establishing and achieving departmental priorities. * Establish a positive work atmosphere through shared management structures and processes that help research-based nursing protocol. * Encourage team members' professional growth in areas of clinical and leadership skill. * Stay updated on research-based practices and leverage this knowledge in improving care standards. * Promote a therapeutic surrounding for patients, their families, and the nursing staff. * Represent nursing staff in addressing the concerns of patients, families, and team members. * Facilitate educational opportunities for patients and their families, nursing staff, and the community. * Incorporate the organization's mission and goals into strategies for staff and patients. * Passionately participate in governance and decision-making processes to enhance nursing procedures and workplace conditions. Key Success Factors * Have a broad knowledge of the standards and procedures for nursing and patient care. * Be aware of healthcare laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies. * Communicate clearly and effectively in all forms, spoken or written. * Have the ability to form helpful patient care strategies and modify them as needed to cater for diverse patient needs. * Be able to make sensible recommendations regarding the distribution of resources to maintain quality and productivity standards. * Have prior experience in handling operational management and guiding a team. * Demonstrate sound judgment when assessing policies and establishing procedures. * Be comfortable using general computer software, systems for healthcare management, and electronic documentation. If not BLS certified, it must be completed within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
