Apex Vascular of Knoxville and Lenoir City, a privately owned and operated all-vascular practice, is seeking a talented and board-certified/eligible vascular surgeon to join our rapidly growing practice. It is an exciting opportunity to assume and take over an active, busy vascular practice fully staffed with  full case load for vascular surgeon leaving to be closer to family  We also have an immediate need to meet the increasing demands in the endovascular and vascular community.

The Apex team consists of: 3 Vascular Surgeons, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 2 Physician Assistants and 1 (full time) Sclerotherapy Nurse. With an existing network of 10000 established patients (after our founder’s 20+ year career in the area), Apex is currently seeing 350-400 new office-based consults monthly. The practice is closely aligned with 4 wound care specialists and is on track to reach 500 new patient consults per month by year end.

The practice currently has 1 Fully Operational and owned Vascular  Ambulatory Surgery Center the only in the region. It has two state of the art procedure rooms, 5 Recovery Rooms, and 2 Vein Rooms.  There are plans in near future to expand the asc to  offer new procedures and service lines.

In this position, you will cover 1 hospital system with 2 locations, minimal call, and a low volume of after-hours cases. The Hospital Administration is extremely supportive of our practice, fostering a collegial environment where we have close relationships with Cardiologists, CT Surgeons, and their robust research department. Currently, we have the ability to perform all cases. The hospital is in the process of building a state-of-the-art endovascular suite and establishing a dedicated vascular department. This expansion will create a director opportunity and regular quality alignment meetings with cardiologists to review cases and obtain CME.

The incoming provider will work closely with our founding Vascular Surgeons and NP’s and PA's to manage the growing case load. The position entails performing all aspects of vascular surgery, with a focus on endovascular arterial,vein and multiple embolic procedures. We work closely with local providers in a “Limb Preservation” model, providing daily endovascular procedures. Dialysis access is minimal, and hospital emergencies are rare, as most cases are elective and derived from clinic referrals. Advanced skills in complex endovascular peripheral cases are ideal to meet rapidly growing demand in our community.

Unlike many other positions, 99 % procedures are derived from the clinic and are elective in nature. Our practice is solely focused on vascular surgery, with the CEO being a vascular surgeon, allowing for appropriate growth.

Qualified candidates will be Board-Certified or Eligible, Vascular Surgery Fellowship Trained with excellent endovascular skills. Candidates with a few years of experience are preferred but skilled graduating fellows are welcome. The ideal candidate will be passionate about peripheral vascular and vein procedures, and also possess a business mindset, with a keen interest in entrepreneurship and learning the “ins and outs” of running a successful private practice.

Requirements

Board Certified or Eligible in Vascular Surgeon
