Are you a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian interested in becoming trained in Diabetes Care and Education? Let us help you advance your career and skillset while making a difference here at OneWorld! We are looking for a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (DCES) who is patient-centered and works well in a team environment. The DCES is an integral part of the interprofessional team and provides collaborative, comprehensive and person-centered care, and education conducive to behavior change and improved quality of life across the lifespan. The DCES delivers case management services to patients and advocates for people affected by diabetes to optimize quality care. 

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position based out of our main campus in South Omaha (30th & L.). This position allows for a hybrid work-from-home schedule; with about 1 to 2 days in clinic per week. The schedule will generally be between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. 
 
We are offering a $5,000 hiring bonus to fill this position!

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:   

- Licensed by the State of Nebraska as a Registered Nurse required, OR Registered Dietitian certification through the Commission of Dietetic Registration required. 

- Diabetes self-management education and support experience preferred.  

- Proficiency in both English and Spanish required. 

- Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office products, required; previous experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred 

- Minimum of one year of experience working as a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian required. 

- Expertise in diabetes, nutrition, physical activity, motivational interviewing, weight reduction, cholesterol management, stress management, and/or hypertension management preferred but not required, we will train the right candidate! 

- BLS certification required for Registered Nurses
 - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
 - Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision independently and as a team member.
