POSITION SUMMARY
Trains, authorizes and delegates medication administration to non-licensed direct care staff in the CILA setting. Responsible for direct and indirect care given to assigned CILA residents in compliance with state regulations, professional standards of practice, physician orders, and individual health/treatment plans. Conducts nursing assessments and identifies health needs. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and physician's orders. Responsible for providing training to CILA staff regarding medication usage, storage, and administration services in compliance with Rule 116 requirements. Acts as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team in agency and participates in risk mitigation planning.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse degree from accredited university/college.
- IDHS-RN Nurse-Trainer Approval preferred, required within 60 days of hire date.
- 1 year of professional nursing clinical experience within the last 5 years, preferably in the field of developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with persons with developmental/intellectual disabilities and psychiatric disorders required.
- Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Provides 24-hour on-call services to CILA staff for consultation related to any participant health concerns or issues that arise.
