Company Overview

St. Tammany Parish Hospital (STPH) is a fully accredited, not-for-profit, community hospital. We are the facility of choice in the community and surrounding areas as verified by our patient, physician and employee satisfaction surveys. As the first hospital of Covington, we opened our doors December 1, 1954, as a small rural facility with 16 beds. Since that time, St. Tammany Parish Hospital has grown to a full-service, acute care hospital licensed for 232 beds and employs over 2,300 employees.

Our hospital is nestled in the heart of Covington, Louisiana, on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste. Families appreciate the strength of the St. Tammany Parish School System, which ranks as Louisiana’s finest and hosts a number of federally recognized Presidential Blue Ribbon schools. This success is marked by the students’ consistently high scores on national standardized tests.
