Company History
Born and raised near Corpus Christi, Texas, Dr. P. John Schanen has called the Boerne area home after residing in Helotes for over 14 years. Married for 30 years, he is a proud father of two, both of whom are actively involved in supporting his clinics. With over a decade of experience as a clinician, John has provided expert care in emergency rooms across the greater Corpus Christi and San Antonio regions, as well as in urgent care and primary care settings. His true passion lies in wellness care, where he finds immense professional fulfillment in helping patients achieve and maintain optimal health.
Before pursuing his career as a dual-certified Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner, John successfully owned and operated seven outpatient physical therapy clinics across South Texas for over a decade. Despite the challenges and successes of running these businesses, he found that he missed the personal connection of direct patient care. In 2009, he sold his clinics and embarked on a new journey to become a nurse practitioner, with the vision of creating his own practice focused on personalized, patient-centered care.
Outside of his professional endeavors, John enjoys spending time with his family, reading, golfing, snow skiing, and exploring new destinations.
