Hours:  7:30am-4:00pm  (8 hours currently, however has flexibility to move to a 7 hr position to adjust start time for a candidate) Hourly wage depending on years of service verified and Lisc:  RN $49.52-$55.51 and LPN $35.15-$39.60 per hour

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    Current license to practice nursing in the State of Washington

2.    Current First Aid certificate preferred

3.    Experience working with children and the community preferred

4.    Good record keeping ability and clerical skills

5.    Computer knowledge and experience preferred

6.    Strong interpersonal and inter professional communication skills

7.    Must favorably pass the Washington State Patrol and FBI background check

8.    Experience and/or training working with students having severe disabilities preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Assess the physical, mental, and environmental health of students. Identify needs as related to the educational environment and cultural background in accordance with state and local mandates.

2.    Assists with tasks involved in vision, hearing, and other health screenings as required and in accordance with the Washington State Codes.

3.    Administration of prescribed medications and treatments to students under the training/supervision of the District Registered Nurse. These include, but are not limited to, tube feeding, suctioning, catheterization and diabetic care.

4.    Ability to maintain and treat school information confidentially following HIPPA and FERPA laws.

5.    Maintain health records, prepare reports necessary to carry out activities of the school health program, assist in maintaining all student immunization information records. 

6.    Communicate with parents, staff, and Licensed Health Care Providers.

7.    Provide nursing services for ill, medically fragile and injured students.

8.    Assist in initiating referral action to ensure remediation of identified needs, and preform follow-up action when necessary.

9.    Perform other nursing duties as guided by the District Nurse and Supervisor.
