Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Pain Management

Employment type: Full Time
Compensation: $64 to $67
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:30
About the Position
Open Arms Pain Clinic is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care for patients experiencing acute and chronic pain. Working with our medical director and interdisciplinary team, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and help improve their function and quality of life.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic testing.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain using evidence-based treatment approaches.
Prescribe and monitor medications, including controlled substances, within your authorized scope of practice and applicable regulations.
Perform or assist with procedures, such as joint injections, trigger point injections, and Botox for migraines, as permitted by training, credentialing, and scope of practice.
Educate patients and families about treatment options, medication safety, lifestyle changes, and pain self-management.
Coordinate care and referrals with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Monitor treatment outcomes, adjust care plans, and maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records.
Follow clinic protocols and applicable licensing and prescribing requirements.
Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and team development.
Required Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing.
Current national Nurse Practitioner certification appropriate to the patient population and responsibilities.
Current, unrestricted Colorado licensure and applicable advanced practice and prescribing authority.
DEA registration appropriate to the position’s prescribing responsibilities.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
One to two years of Nurse Practitioner experience in pain management, primary care, neurology, orthopedics, or a related specialty.
Experience managing patients with chronic pain.
Experience with relevant office-based procedures.
Work Environment
This position is based in an outpatient clinic with regular patient interaction. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required depending on clinic needs.
