Join a highly collaborative and patient-centered 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Marble Falls. Our diverse patient population provides a well-rounded clinical experience, including orthopedic (hips and knees), general surgery, urology, podiatry, dialysis, telemetry, geriatric, and general medical-surgical patients.
Our team is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining a supportive work environment. Registered Nurses care for patients at a 1:5 ratio, while Patient Care Technicians maintain a 1:10 ratio on both day and night shifts, allowing team members to focus on safe, high-quality care.
We provide extensive clinical support, including a dedicated Charge Nurse who carries no patient assignment and is available to assist staff throughout the shift. Our team is also supported by a full-time Wound Care Nurse, helping optimize patient outcomes and providing an additional clinical resource for bedside staff.
Our unit features 100% private patient rooms with decentralized supplies located throughout the unit, creating an efficient workflow that maximizes time spent at the bedside.

Our leadership team consists of two Nursing Supervisors and a dedicated Nurse Manager who are highly visible, approachable, and committed to supporting the success and development of every team member.

Job Summary
As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
Essential Functions of the Role
• Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
• Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
Key Success Factors
• Comprehensive knowledge of standards and procedures in nursing and patient care.
• Effective communication skills to articulate thoughts clearly and interact with diverse groups of people.
• Proficient problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to provide quality patient care.
• Flexibility and excellent communication for sharing changes in patient health conditions promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications
• A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
• A minimum of (1) one year's experience in the field of nursing
• A valid Registered Nurse license
• The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
