Lead Perioperative Services at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital at South Shore in Far Rockaway, New York as the new Senior Director, Perioperative Services.

The Position 

The Senior Director, Perioperative Services will provide strategic and operational leadership for Inpatient and Ambulatory Surgical Services at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital at South Shore and the Ambulatory Surgery Center, advancing quality, efficiency, and the experience of patients, physicians, and staff.
This leader will oversee inpatient surgery, the ambulatory surgery center, endoscopy, and sterile processing.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Patient Services & Chief Nursing Officer, the Senior Director will lead four direct reports and approximately 60 FTEs.
Key priorities include maintaining survey readiness, managing surgical scheduling, and supporting the ambulatory surgery center’s expansion from three to five days per week. The Senior Director will oversee service line finances and equipment replacement, including new sterile processing equipment, and lead the Perioperative Services Council through performance discussions, surgeon engagement, and required meeting documentation.
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded perioperative leader with proven experience building trust with staff and physician leaders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Active New York RN license required.
Previous director-level experience in Perioperative Services required.
Experience working in a unionized environment is highly preferred.
Maintains clinical proficiency in scrubbing, circulating, and providing direct patient care as needed.

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $210,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
