PRN | Primarily Nights | On-Call, Weekend and Holiday Coverage Required
Make a meaningful difference for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. Baylor University Medical Center is seeking an experienced, certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care while performing specialized forensic examinations.
This PRN opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN who can respond calmly in sensitive, high-acuity situations and is committed to supporting patients while maintaining the integrity of the forensic process.
Schedule
• PRN, on-call position
• Most coverage occurs during night shifts
• Weekend and holiday availability is required
• Specific on-call expectations and scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview
What You'll Do
As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, you will:
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered, trauma-informed care to sexual assault patients
• Perform comprehensive forensic examinations
• Collect, document, and preserve forensic evidence in accordance with established standards
• Coordinate care with physicians, advocates, law enforcement, and other members of the multidisciplinary response team
• Provide appropriate follow-up care and patient education
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and legally sound documentation
• Participate in judicial proceedings and provide expert testimony when required

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit PRN is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum of two years of professional RN experience
• Current SANE-A or CA-SANE certification
• Current Registered Nurse license
• Current Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of hire
