American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Operating Room position in Raleigh, NC, requiring L&D experience and the ability to circulate for C-sections on a night shift schedule.
Details- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit featuring a 3-bay OBED, 20 labor rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU bays
- Patient population includes laboring, antepartum (high-risk), delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
- Travelers rotate through OBED, L&D, and OB PACU areas; travelers do not circulate OR cases
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call required
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license with NC as the state of residence
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), and NRP
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Prior L&D experience required
- Ability to circulate for C-sections and triage OB patients required
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing program (BSN or MSN preferred)
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing care for laboring, high-risk antepartum, postpartum, and recovery patients
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care using the nursing process
- Participates in patient and family education, including assessing readiness and developmental factors affecting learning
- Drug screen results are required prior to start; candidates should report to the lab within 24 hours of commitment
- Background check and drug screen processing takes a minimum of 2 weeks; start dates may be adjusted if required documents are not submitted by the due date
